Creator held the data. The interface was the bottleneck.
A US Autodesk and Bluebeam reseller runs its entire quote-to-cash on Zoho Creator. The data model was sound. The screen sales teams stared at all day was a generated form. So we replaced the surface — and left the platform exactly where it was.

Quote-to-cash on Zoho, end to end
An authorised Autodesk and Bluebeam reseller in the United States, selling subscription software, hardware and CAD/BIM consulting to design and construction firms.
Every quote carries subscription terms, start and end dates, renewal managers, technical managers, vendor splits, prorate rules, forecast eligibility and margin thresholds. Sales, renewals and billing all read the same record — and all three needed different things from it.
The Creator app already held the logic: custom quote modules, line-item tables, vendor pricing, approval routing. Nobody wanted to migrate. They wanted the screen to stop getting in the way.
Creator generates screens. It doesn't design them.
Zoho Creator is excellent at data, logic and permissions. The detail view it hands you is a by-product of the form — and past a certain complexity, that becomes the whole problem.
Field order follows the form, not the reader
A 27-field quote renders as one long stack. A salesperson checking expiry, owner and recipient scrolls past twenty fields to do it.
Actions hide behind menus
Custom actions land in overflow menus. Twenty-four of them means the frequent five are buried with the rare nineteen.
The line-item grid is fixed
Users can't choose which columns appear or reorder them. A renewals rep and a margin analyst are forced to read the identical table.
No modals, no side panels, no dark mode
Changing a stage or an owner means navigating away. There is no in-place layer in the stock report toolkit.
Related records break your place
Related quotes, activities and account context open as separate reports. Every look-up costs the page you were on.
Nowhere to put intelligence
An AI panel that reads the whole quote — header, items, totals, stage, customer — has no seat in a generated detail view.
ø Stock Creator detail report
- Single-column, form-ordered fields
- Actions in overflow menus
- Fixed grid columns
- Navigate away for every change
- Light theme only
- One reload per action
✓ Custom JS view — same app, same data
- Three-column header, grouped by who reads it
- 24 actions in one persistent rail
- Pick and drag-reorder your own columns
- Stage, payment and owner change in place
- Dark and light, per user
- One load, then everything is in-page
Keep the platform. Replace only the surface.
No migration, no second system, no shadow database. The rebuild is a Creator page — it lives inside the app, behind the same login, under the same permissions.
Assemble the whole quote in a single call
A Deluge endpoint returns the full quote graph at once: header fields, line items, totals, vendor data, related records and account context. The screen never waits on six sequential fetches.
Render client-side inside a Creator page
An HTML/JS view takes over the page area and paints the layout the business actually reads — three-column header, command rail, configurable grid, layered overlays.
Every action posts back through Zoho
Stage changes, owner reassignment, revisions, duplication and deletion all run through Creator and CRM APIs. Workflows, approvals, audit trail and field-level permissions are untouched.
Give the AI the assembled context
Because the page already holds the complete quote, the assistant gets real context — not a truncated summary. It answers on line items, margin, stage and customer history.
A “Legacy View” button, always
One click returns the stock Creator report. Adoption never depended on trusting the new screen on day one.
The rebuild, scene by scene.
A quote workspace, not a quote record
Everything below runs on one page load. Nothing here required leaving Zoho Creator.
24 actions, always visible
Refresh, edit, preview, stage, payment terms, owner, self-accept, activities, export, revise, emails, duplicate, share, delete, forecast item, save as template, related quotes, comment — one column, zero menu hops.
27 fields, no scrolling
Grouped into three readable columns: the commercial track, the ownership track, and the recipient and billing track. Each team finds its own third immediately.
Pick your columns, drag to reorder
Unit and extended cost, unit and extended price, vendor, prorate, forecast eligibility, optional, selected, and three discount percentages — checked on or off and dragged into the order that suits the job.
AI Quote Intelligence
An inline banner on the quote itself. One click analyses the current quote in place — no export, no copy-paste into a separate tool.
AI Quote Assistant, 7 preset prompts
Manager summary, risk factors, cross-sell, follow-up email, low-margin items, next best action, optional items — plus free-form questions, answered with full quote context.
Spell and grammar rewrite for line items
Original description, flagged changes and rewritten text side by side. Approve the rewrite and it writes straight back to the line item — before the quote reaches the customer.
Modals instead of navigation
Stage changes, payment terms, owner reassignment, related quotes and activity all open as overlays over the quote you are already reading.
Quote and email template manager
Quote templates, renewal-specific templates for vendor subscription models, and email templates with live preview — created and managed from the same screen.
360° Account View
A companion widget: account summary, open pipeline, won and lost in the last 90 days, subscriptions, renewals expiring in 120 days, vendor product splits, latest call, task and email — with a per-user dark theme.
What one screen now carries
Standard Zoho, used to its edge
Nothing exotic. A Creator page, a JS/HTML snippet, Deluge for the server side, and the CRM API for everything that writes.
The same pattern now backs the account 360° view, the salesperson 360° view and the AI prompt library — one read endpoint, one client-rendered surface, writes back through native APIs.
If your Creator app works but feels like a form, the ceiling is the report layer — not the platform.
The reseller kept every workflow, every permission and every record. What their team got was a screen designed around the way they actually sell — built inside the tool they already own.
